Professional home inspection services for Prince William County

A professional home evaluation of more than 1,600 current condition items inside and outside the home is the core of the Pillar To Post inspection. We inspect single family homes, town homes, condominiums, and multi-family homes. Our inspectors conduct a visual inspection of accessible systems and components of the home including:

  • Property and Site
  • Porches, Patios and Decks
  • Structure and Foundation
  • Roof, Chimney and Attics
  • Gutters and Drainage
  • Basements and Crawl Spaces
  • Electrical System
  • Plumbing System
  • HVAC: Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning
  • Walls, Floors and Ceilings

We can also inspect and test:

  • Radon-in-Air (subcontracted)
  • Well Water Quality (qualifying lab)
  • Septic Inspection / Pumping (subcontracted)

Pre-Drywall Inspections

This particular inspection normally has a relatively small window of opportunity. The ideal level of progress in building your home for this inspection is just before any drywall has been installed, yet all mechanical systems are fully installed. An inspection of the home at this moment gives the inspector an unobstructed view of building structure, framing and all mechanical system components that are typically not visible at all once the drywall is installed.

New Construction Inspections

In a perfect world there would be little use for this inspection, right? As we all know that is not exactly realistic. This inspection provides a real time condition of the property at the time of release to you from your builder, ready to move in.

All visible portions of the home are inspected to protect you from oversights or errors that are possible during construction. Have it your way, you paid for it.

Re-Sale Inspections

Once aware of the benefits of a professional home inspection, having an inspection on the property you’re thinking of buying really becomes a no brainer. When would it not make sense to spend several hundred dollars on the only service that gives you the most information about what you are getting for the several hundred thousand dollars you are about to invest.

Pre-Listing Inspections

Dread the thought of your home sitting on the market long after you needed to move into your new home? Unsure what that perspective buyers’ inspector might say that could negatively affect their opinion? Know exactly would they would say and eliminate them before the first inspector arrives. A thorough inspection prior to listing can address any issues that may snag an otherwise smooth transaction and quick sale of your home.
